Whiskey Distillery

In 2019, Lennon Group was delighted to be tasked with the complete fit out of The first island-based distillery in Ireland; Irish American Whiskey, Achill Island, Ireland.

The Achill distillery was designed by master distiller David Hynes, Director of Great Northern Distillery, who was pored there are now 26 running distilleries in Ireland compared to two just 30 years ago.

The distillery was developed by Irish American Trading Company, who invested over €4 million in the project with the support of Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Lennon Group was responsible for electrical installation of equipment (VSDs, Automation Controls etc.) in the fermentation plant area and the newly custom built whiskey stills. All works were completed within the necessary time frame while adhering to CompEx Regulations.

Irish American Whiskey also commissioned Lennon Group with the installation of Air sampling fire alarms with Atex Intrinsically safe heat detectors and IP CCTV Systems.
